The analysis is based on the assumption that education is not only a social right but also a key factor influencing productivity, innovation capacity, and individuals’ opportunities for labour market integration. Using Eurostat data for the period 2014–2023, the study compares several EU Member States. Four main indicators were examined: the employment rate of recent young graduates, the share of young people who are neither in employment nor in education or training (NEET), the extent of companies’ involvement in continuing vocational training, and the degree of practical experience provided within vocational education. The results indicate that countries which have established strong links between educational institutions and businesses-such as Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Austria-achieve significantly better outcomes. Young people enter employment more rapidly, businesses invest more in employee training, and economies become more resilient. In Romania, although some improvements have been observed, the gap compared with the EU average remains substantial. Graduate employment has increased only gradually, private sector involvement in training remains limited, and vocational education continues to be predominantly theoretical. The paper highlights the need for more coherent policies, stronger partnerships with businesses, and a more practice-oriented vocational education system if Romania is to transform its human capital into a genuine source of economic competitiveness.

["post-622","articol","type-articol","status-publish","hentry
["GET
