While<br \/>\ntraditional frameworks emphasize the independence of monetary policy and the countercyclical role of fiscal policy, all<br \/>\nthree episodes demonstrated the increasing necessity of coordinated responses. The analysis adopts a qualitative and<br \/>\ncomparative approach, drawing on data from Eurostat, the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund,<br \/>\nand the European Commission, focusing on real GDP growth, HICP inflation, general government consolidated gross<br \/>\ndebt, and fiscal balances. The findings suggest that effective stabilization depends not on the individual strength of<br \/>\nmonetary or fiscal instruments, but on their alignment within a coherent policy mix. Coordinated responses produced<br \/>\nstronger stabilization outcomes, while misalignment generated real economic costs that proved difficult to reverse. The<br \/>\nGFC demonstrated the damage of premature fiscal consolidation when monetary policy is constrained by the effective<br \/>\nlower bound, while the pandemic response illustrated what becomes possible when both policy domains pull in the<br \/>\nsame direction. The inflationary episode that followed revealed that maintaining alignment is hardest when the short<br \/>\nterm objectives of monetary and fiscal policy begin to diverge. The paper concludes that coordination mechanisms can<br \/>\nconsiderably improve macroeconomic resilience. The EU’s asymmetric institutional architecture, combining<br \/>\ncentralized monetary policy with decentralized fiscal authority, remains a structural challenge that instruments such as<br \/>\nNextGenerationEU have only partially addressed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"site-sidebar-layout":"default","site-content-layout":"","ast-site-content-layout":"default","site-content-style":"default","site-sidebar-style":"default","ast-global-header-display":"","ast-banner-title-visibility":"","ast-main-header-display":"","ast-hfb-above-header-display":"","ast-hfb-below-header-display":"","ast-hfb-mobile-header-display":"","site-post-title":"","ast-breadcrumbs-content":"","ast-featured-img":"","footer-sml-layout":"","ast-disable-related-posts":"","theme-transparent-header-meta":"","adv-header-id-meta":"","stick-header-meta":"","header-above-stick-meta":"","header-main-stick-meta":"","header-below-stick-meta":"","astra-migrate-meta-layouts":"default","ast-page-background-enabled":"default","ast-page-background-meta":{"desktop":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-5)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"tablet":{"background-color":"","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"mobile":{"background-color":"","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""}},"ast-content-background-meta":{"desktop":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-4)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"tablet":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-4)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"mobile":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-4)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""}}},"class_list":["post-449","articol","type-articol","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.journals.utgjiu.ro\/JES\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/articol\/449","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.journals.utgjiu.ro\/JES\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/articol"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.journals.utgjiu.ro\/JES\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/articol"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.journals.utgjiu.ro\/JES\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=449"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
