Abstract
This research investigates the connection between green finance and the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing specifically on how Corporate Sustainable Development (CSD) mediates this relationship in the Indian banking industry. The study utilized purposive sampling, collecting data from 300 employees of well-known private sector banks located in Delhi. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to evaluate the proposed hypotheses using SmartPLS software. Based on the responses provided by the respondents, it was found that Green Finance such as Green Credit, Green Insurance, Green Investment, and Green Securities have a significant effect on the CSD of the Corporates; however, the direct impact of Green Finance on the SDGs is very limited. That being said, the CSD has been found to have a strong and significant relationship with the SDGs, and it partially mediates the relationship between Green Finance and the SDGs. Therefore, the results indicate that banks are critical players in promoting sustainability by directing financial resources to environmentally responsible activities. In conclusion, the findings of this study add to the existing research on this topic by providing empirical evidence from an emerging economy, which may assist in integrating sustainability into financial decision making.
