Abstract
The consumption of vegetables and fruits is a fundamental component of a balanced diet, being recognized for
its beneficial effects on human health. The present study aims to analyze the implications of this consumption on the
prevention of chronic diseases, on the functioning of the body and on well-being. The objective of the research is to
identify the health implications of eating vegetables and fruits. The research question is: What are the implications of
regular consumption of vegetables and fruits on human health? The working hypothesis states that an adequate daily
consumption of at least 400 g of fruits and vegetables determines major health benefits, by reducing the risk of chronic
diseases, maintaining metabolic balance and improving general condition. The paper is based on data from recent
international literature and Romanian nutritional guides.
